Discharged & Recovery Continues in Dallas

Two weeks ago, Colton was discharged, and we were finally able to leave the hospital for a nearby apartment in Dallas. The first 100 days post-transplant are a very sensitive time while his body adjusts to the new stem cells. His team wants us close by so they can monitor him closely with frequent appointments for any new issues, infections, or signs of graft vs. host disease.

In the meantime, we’re pretty quarantined to the apartment- leaving for grocery pick ups, appointments, infusions, or procedures—until his immune system is a bit stronger. He’s regaining some strength, and just being out of the hospital has made a huge difference. Still, we’re definitely looking forward to the day we get to go home home to Fort Worth.

Colton had a bone marrow biopsy and aspirate procedure on Friday to get a closer look at his marrow post-transplant. Those results will take some time, but we would love your prayers for healthy marrow and ideal results.

We continue to be overwhelmed—in the best way—by all of your prayers, love, and support. Thank you so so much.
