Colton's Post-Transplant Progress and Continued Healing
Colton's fever and inflammation post transplant turned a corner on Tuesday. The days in between were definitely the roughest days we have had so far. He is feeling better and has some expected side effects from chemo and radiation like mucositis, nausea, and fatigue, and is getting blood/platelets as needed. He is being closely monitored for any signs of infection since he currently has no neutrophils to help his body fight infection. He will remain in the hospital for approximately another 2 weeks until they see signs of successful engraftment by increasing neutrophils, and eventually increasing red blood cells, and platelets. Your prayers and encouragement are always a gift, but have especially given us comfort in the last week. We are grateful.
